Mehreen S. Sherwani counsels clients in commercial litigation,
including appeals, and works on corporate transactions, such
as asset and stock purchase agreements. She is a 1998 graduate
of Chicago-Kent College of Law and former Illinois Appellate
Court (First District) research staff attorney. Ms. Sherwani
served as law clerk to Justice Thomas E. Hoffman in the Appellate Court (First District) from September
2002 until December 2005, researching and drafting published
opinions and unpublished orders in matters of contracts, zoning,
family law, criminal law, negligence, civil and criminal procedure,
statutory construction and evidence.
Ms. Sherwani is admitted to practice in Illinois and was selected as a bar association interviewer of judicial candidates in 2006. She received her bachelor's degree in environmental science, with a certificate in business, from Indiana University. She is fluent in Spanish, and conversationally fluent in Urdu.
