FOCUS
Mr. Wolven is an associate with Lowis & Gellen. His primary
practice is assisting physicians and hospitals in defense
of complex medical malpractice claims.
Early in his career. Mr. Wolven practiced in such diverse areas as commercial litigation, domestic
relations, premises liability, and residential real estate. He has significant experience in
litigating catastrophic claims on behalf of such clients as Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Loyola
University Medical Center, and the Chicago Hospital Risk Pooling Program. He has also advised hospital
clients in analysis and development of written consents, the impact of federal and state regulations,
and the reappointment of staff physicians.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Mr. Wolven is a member of the American Bar Association,
the Illinois State Bar Association and The Chicago Bar Association.
While in Law School, Mr. Wolven litigated domestic relations
matters for a school-sponsored clinic, and he coached local
fifth graders in mock trials as part of a "legal literacy"
program.
EDUCATION
Mr. Wolven received a J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana. He
also received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University.
